Installation

System Requirements

  • macOS: 10.15 (Catalina) or later
  • Windows: Windows 10 or later
  • Linux: Ubuntu 20.04+ or equivalent

For iMessage Integration (macOS only)

  • Full Disk Access permission
  • Contacts access permission

For Browser Automation

  • Chrome or Chromium installed

Download

Download the latest release from GitHub Releases.

macOS Installation

  1. Download the .dmg file for your architecture
  2. Open the .dmg and drag Wovly to Applications
  3. Launch Wovly from Applications

Troubleshooting macOS

This happens with unsigned apps. Run in Terminal:
xattr -cr /Applications/Wovly.app
Right-click the app and select “Open”, then click “Open” in the dialog.

Windows Installation

  1. Download the .exe installer
  2. Run the installer and follow prompts
  3. Wovly will be available in the Start menu

Linux Installation

  1. Download the .AppImage file
  2. Make it executable:
    chmod +x Wovly-x.x.x.AppImage
    
  3. Run the AppImage:
    ./Wovly-x.x.x.AppImage
    

Data Location

Wovly stores all data locally:

Updating

Wovly will notify you when updates are available. To update:
  1. Download the new version from GitHub Releases
  2. Install over the existing version
  3. Your data and settings are preserved

Uninstalling

macOS

  1. Drag Wovly from Applications to Trash
  2. Optionally delete data: rm -rf ~/.wovly-assistant

Windows

  1. Use “Add or Remove Programs” in Settings
  2. Optionally delete data in %APPDATA%/wovly-assistant

Linux

  1. Delete the AppImage file
  2. Optionally delete data: rm -rf ~/.wovly-assistant
