Connect Spotify to control playback and browse your music library.

Capabilities

  • Control playback - Play, pause, skip tracks
  • Get current - See what’s playing
  • Search music - Find songs, albums, artists
  • Browse playlists - View your playlists

Requirements

  • Spotify Premium - Required for playback control
  • Active device - Spotify must be open on a device

Setup

Step 1: Create Spotify App

  1. Go to Spotify Developer Dashboard
  2. Click Create app
  3. Name it “Wovly”
  4. Add Redirect URI: http://localhost:18923/oauth/callback
  5. Note your Client ID and Client Secret

Step 2: Connect in Wovly

  1. Go to Integrations in Wovly
  2. Click Setup on Spotify
  3. Enter Client ID and Client Secret
  4. Click Connect
  5. Authorize in Spotify

Usage

"What song is playing?"

"Play some jazz music"

"Skip to the next track"

"Search Spotify for Taylor Swift"

"Show my playlists"

Playback Control

Playback control requires Spotify Premium and an active Spotify session on a device (phone, computer, speaker, etc.).
If no device is active: 
You: Play some music

Wovly: No active Spotify device found. Open Spotify on a device first, then try again.

Troubleshooting

Ensure Spotify is open and playing on a device. Wovly controls existing sessions.
Playback control is a Premium-only feature. Browse and search work with free accounts.
Start playing something on Spotify first to activate a device, then Wovly can control it.
